Indoor Ceremonies
With oak panelling, high ceilings and mullion windows, our Stuart Room seats up to 120 for a civil ceremony. For something more intimate, couples have the choice of the Abraham Brigg room, the main hall or one of our private dining rooms. And for something truly romantic, our 17th century stone gazebo is the smallest licensed wedding venue in the UK.

Our beautiful walled gardens at the front of the manor house are one of the most photographed wedding settings in Yorkshire, and it's easy to see why. We also have a secluded courtyard that can seat up to 80 guests, and our newly updated stables offer something different for those wanting a more rustic, countryside aesthetic.

Yes — and they're increasingly popular. A twilight wedding typically starts in the late afternoon with a ceremony, followed by evening dining and a party into the night. Midweek weddings offer the same experience as a weekend celebration, often at a more accessible price point. We always have a wet weather plan in place too, so if the Yorkshire skies don't cooperate, we'll move everything indoors seamlessly. You won't need to worry about a thing.

We're in Holdsworth, just outside Halifax in West Yorkshire. Despite the secluded, countryside feel, we're easy to reach — about 15 minutes from the M62, 30 minutes from Leeds and Bradford, and around an hour from Manchester and York. There's free on-site parking for your guests, and the nearest train station is Halifax (about 10 minutes by taxi).
For larger weddings or couples who want the entire estate to themselves, we offer exclusive use of Holdsworth House. That means all thirty-three bedrooms, the grounds, the restaurant and all ceremony spaces — just for you and your guests. Follow the link to Book A Show Round and you'll be taken to a live calendar where you can book a time to suit you. A show round takes about an hour. It's relaxed and there's no obligation. You'll walk the estate, see the ceremony and dining spaces, and have a conversation about what you're looking for. A non-refundable deposit secures your date, with the balance due in stages before the wedding. Our wedding team will walk you through the payment schedule — there are no hidden costs and everything is clearly laid out in your contract. If you have questions about specific terms, just ask when you visit. You can also hold a date for up to 14 days before needing to pay the deposit.
We're a dog-friendly hotel, and well-behaved dogs are welcome at your wedding. We have ground-floor bedrooms that work well for guests with dogs, and there's plenty of outdoor space for walks between courses. Just mention it to your wedding coordinator and we'll sort out the details.
