No appointment, no ticket and no sales pitch: wander the house, gardens and bedrooms at your own pace, see the ceremony and reception rooms as a blank canvas for your day, and talk to the wedding team about anything you like. There is a glass of fizz waiting for you on arrival.
What to expect an evening that is about you, not us
Call in any time between 5pm and 8pm. Most couples stay 30 to 45 minutes, some stay for the whole evening. Bring your parents, your friends or whoever helps you decide. There is no tour to keep up with and nobody following you round with a clipboard.
- Wander the house, bedrooms and grounds at your own pace, with a guide only if you want one
- See the ceremony spaces, from the gardens and the 17th century Stone Gazebo to the Stuart Room and the barn courtyard
- Find your photo spots in the gardens, courtyards and historic halls

Holdsworth House hosts one wedding a day, whether that is two of you or 150 of your favourite people. Ceremony, wedding breakfast, evening party and your guests' bedrooms all happen under one roof, in a Grade II* listed Jacobean manor set in three secluded acres just outside Halifax. A drop-in evening is the easiest first look: no commitment, no pressure, and the people who would actually run your wedding there to answer your questions.

There are three ways to see Holdsworth House before you decide, and they are all free. Pick the one that fits where you are in your planning, or do all three; plenty of couples do.

No. Just turn up any time between 5pm and 8pm. Adding the evening to your calendar is the only thing worth doing in advance, so it does not slip your mind.
Most couples stay 30 to 45 minutes. Stay longer if you are enjoying yourselves; there is no closing tour and nobody will hurry you.
No. There are no stalls and no suppliers, just you, us and the house. If you would like to meet our venue stylist and photographer and see the rooms fully dressed, come to a wedding open day instead, or as well.
Yes. Bring whoever helps you decide. Children are welcome, and so are well-behaved dogs.
You will see the ceremony and reception rooms as a blank canvas, with some spaces set up so you can picture your day. For the full styled look, with tables dressed and flowers in, the open day is the one to come to.
