The three adjoining dining rooms; the Stone Room, the Panelled Room and the Mullioned Room. Each overlook the gardens and provide a warm, intimate atmosphere, with open fireplaces and traditional mullioned windows.
Menus focus on seasonal produce and classic flavours, with options ranging from à la carte dining to tasting menus and lighter daytime choices.

Dinner at Holdsworth House offers a refined yet relaxed dining experience, centred around seasonal ingredients and thoughtful, well-balanced dishes. Served in the restaurant our à la carte menu is designed for unhurried evenings, whether you’re dining locally or making an occasion of your visit.
The menu changes regularly to reflect the seasons and the availability of the best produce, with dishes prepared by our kitchen team to showcase classic technique alongside contemporary flavours. From starters through to desserts, the focus is on quality ingredients, careful preparation and an enjoyable pace of dining.
Dinner is served from 6.00pm, with last orders subject to availability. The à la carte menu is suitable for both relaxed evenings and special occasions, and can be enjoyed as a standalone dining experience or combined with an overnight stay at Holdsworth House.
Guests dining with us in the evening benefit from free on-site parking. Advance booking is recommended, particularly at weekends and during peak periods.
Lunch at Holdsworth House
Our lunch offering at Holdsworth House is relaxed, seasonal and designed for easy, sociable dining. Served in the restaurant, bar or gardens, it’s ideal for leisurely lunches, informal meetings or a pre-show meal before an evening at The Piece Hall.
Our Garden Menu is served daily from 12pm to 6.00pm (subject to availability) and focuses on lighter plates, sharing dishes and well-balanced favourites, all prepared using fresh, seasonal ingredients.

Enjoy a traditional afternoon tea in Halifax at historic Holdsworth House, one of West Yorkshire’s most established destinations for relaxed celebrations and special occasions. Afternoon tea is served in the restaurant, hall or bar, with outdoor seating available on the terrace during warmer months.
Set within a 17th-century Jacobean manor, Holdsworth House offers a distinctive setting for afternoon tea in West Yorkshire. Guests can enjoy open fires and cosy interiors in winter, or garden views and fresh air in summer.
Afternoon tea is served daily from 12.30pm to 5.00pm. Scones are baked fresh to order, therefore advance booking is recommended. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are available with prior notice.

For guests looking for a truly memorable dining experience in Halifax,
the 8-Course Tasting Menu at Holdsworth House showcases the creativity and precision of our kitchen at its best.
Each course is designed by our head chef to highlight seasonal produce, refined technique and balanced flavours,
creating an immersive evening of fine dining within our historic Jacobean setting.
The tasting menu changes regularly to reflect the seasons and the availability of the best ingredients,
ensuring every visit feels considered and distinctive, with dishes served at a relaxed, unhurried pace.
The tasting menu is priced at £95 per person. A curated wine flight is available as an optional addition,
with pairings selected by our sommelier to complement each course. Individual wine pairings can also be chosen if preferred.
The tasting menu can be enjoyed as a standalone dining experience or combined with an
overnight stay at Holdsworth House,
including a full Yorkshire breakfast the following morning, for a relaxed foodie break in West Yorkshire.

Breakfast at Holdsworth House is served in our historic dining rooms and prepared fresh each morning by the kitchen team.
Guests can enjoy a relaxed start to the day in a calm setting, with views across the gardens and the character of the house all around.
We offer a plated, freshly cooked breakfast using locally sourced ingredients, alongside a generous continental selection.
Vegetarian options are available, and dietary requirements can be catered for with advance notice.
Breakfast is included for overnight guests on selected rates and is also available to non-residents.
Service times vary slightly during the week and at weekends, and booking is recommended for non-resident guests.

The Long Bar
As its name suggests, the Long Bar runs the length of the manor. To the north, it looks out onto the Colonnade Courtyard through a large arched window. To the south, it opens onto the gardens via the bar door, making it an easy place to drift between indoors and out.
It is a relaxed space for coffee, a pre-dinner drink or something unhurried at the end of the evening. Our drinks list covers classic cocktails, whiskies, rums, spirits, non-alcoholic options, beers on tap and a carefully chosen wine list.
Gin is a particular speciality at Holdsworth House. We keep a wide-ranging gin menu with a strong Yorkshire focus, alongside London Dry, flavoured and international bottles. our historic manor provides a setting that feels both special and comfortable.
Choose from a selection of elegant private dining rooms or larger function spaces,
each full of character with original features such as mullioned windows, fireplaces and chandeliers.
Smaller parties may also dine privately within the restaurant, while larger gatherings can be hosted
in rooms including the Ayrton Room, De Aldworth Room, Abraham Brigg Room, Stuart Room or the Stone Gazebo.
Our private dining menus are created by our kitchen team and designed to suit a range of occasions,
from relaxed afternoon tea gatherings and hearty pie menus to formal three-course celebration dinners
and traditional Host a Roast experiences.
