Looking for a dog friendly hotel? You’ve found it. Taking your dog on holiday with you is a pre-requisite for many looking for a staycation in the UK. Thankfully, at Holdsworth House in West Yorkshire we’ve been welcoming well-behaved dogs on overnight stays for years. (One of our regulars Archie the Westie is pictured in room 3).
As well as a lovely VIP (Very Important Pet) tickle behind the ears your dog gets a welcome treat, which includes a biscuit, use of our water and food bowls, blanket if required and poop bags.
If you’re staying overnight and want to bring your pet dog with you it’s £15 per dog per night for extra cleaning that’s required. We allocated selected rooms as dog friendly so that guests who suffer pet allergies can be assigned a room that is free from such allergens.
A DOG FRIENDLY HOTEL
Dogs love our large gardens and there are plenty of road walks nearby that take in the suburban scenery. We like Beechwood Park too which is about ten minutes’ walk away. Ogden Water is a wonderful country park that is a short car ride too – here you’ve got acres to run around and play.
HOTELS WITH CATS
However dogs aren’t the only four-legged friends that we see at Holdsworth House. We have a ‘resident’ cat, Eric, our adopted stray who likes to make himself at home in the entrance porch. Taking up position on the antique cushioned bench, he won’t move for many people but will let you stroke him gently.
