Meet Our Wedding & Event Coordinator

Introducing Ruby

Ruby has worked at Holdsworth House since the age of 16, beginning her hospitality career within the restaurant and bar team.
Now one of our Wedding & Event Coordinators, she brings first-hand knowledge of the hotel, its people and how weddings unfold behind the scenes.
Her warm, approachable personality and natural enthusiasm make her a favourite with couples and guests alike.

What do you like most about being a wedding coordinator?

“The variety is what I love most. No two days are ever the same.
One day I might be arranging a baby shower for a mum-to-be, and the next I’m acting as Master of Ceremonies at a wedding for 120 guests.

No two weddings are the same either, and I really enjoy seeing the unique ideas each couple brings.
I’m quite a creative person myself, so I love helping couples shape their vision and bring it to life.
Over time, I’ve built up a huge bank of wedding styling ideas, which is always fun to share.”

What do you consider important in the role of a wedding coordinator?

“Weddings are about happiness, so it’s important that we’re adding to that rather than creating stress.
For me, making the entire journey enjoyable — not just the wedding day itself — is incredibly rewarding.
If couples feel supported, relaxed and confident throughout the process, then we’ve done our job properly.”

Any advice for couples planning their wedding?

“Try not to worry too much about other people’s opinions.
Do what feels right for you as a couple — that’s what will make your day truly special and memorable.”

What are your interests outside of work?

“I perform in musicals with Halifax amateur theatre groups, which I absolutely love.
On my nights off, I also enjoy playing netball — it’s a great way to switch off and recharge.”
