Staying over for the wedding
There are 32 bedrooms in the house itself, so the last dance and your bed are a staircase apart. Wedding guests book direct at the wedding rate, with a full Yorkshire breakfast, parking and WiFi included.
Three steps, one phone call
The wedding rate is only available by booking direct with the hotel. It is not on our online booking page and not on any other website, so a search engine will show you a higher price for the same room.
Call reception
Say which wedding you are coming to: the couple's surnames and the date. We allocate your room in the hotel's own system, note any requests, and you get the wedding rate.
01422 240024A £50 deposit holds it
A non-refundable £50 deposit per room secures the booking. Rooms go first come first served, and Saturday weddings in summer fill the house, so book when the invitation lands rather than the month before.
Arrive from 3pm
Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is 11am. Early check-in from midday or a late check-out to midday can be added for £25 each; ask when you book, they need to be pre-booked.
Couples: tell reception how many of your own party want to stay and we will look after those bookings with you. Ask what we can set aside for your date.
Per room, per night, breakfast included
Two adults sharing, with a full cooked or continental breakfast in the restaurant, parking and WiFi. Suites have a sofa bed for one extra adult or two children up to 12 at no extra charge.
These rates are only available by ringing the hotel. Booking.com and the other booking sites never have the wedding rate, so a room that looks cheaper there is not this room at this price, and it comes without the breakfast.

32 rooms, no two the same
A Jacobean house does not do identical bedrooms. Tell reception who is coming and we will put the right people in the right rooms.
The suites
Bigger rooms with a sitting area, some on two levels. Each has a sofa bed, so a family of four or the bridesmaids and a plus-one fit at the suite rate. The honeymoon suite is one of these, so if you are the couple, it is already yours.
The house rooms
Individually designed doubles and twins across the house, some with beams and mullioned windows, some in the quieter wing. Most have a shower over the bath; some have walk-in showers. Say if you have a preference.
The ground-floor accessible room
Wide doorways and a walk-in shower, on the ground floor, with accessible parking and a cloakroom by reception. The house has no lift; ramps reach the function rooms and reception will talk you through the routes before you arrive.
Dog-friendly rooms, cots and extra beds
Dog-friendly rooms are on the ground floor, £30 a night for your dog. Children up to 12 share a suite's sofa bed for nothing, or an extra bed can go in most rooms for £25 with breakfast, and a cot for £15. Some rooms interconnect for families.
Breakfast with everyone who stayed
The best hour of a wedding weekend is the one nobody planned: the whole party back at one long table in the restaurant, comparing notes.
Breakfast is included
Full Yorkshire or continental, in the restaurant, for everyone on the wedding rate. No vouchers, no extra charge.
The Farmhouse Treatment Rooms
Massages and facials in the treatment rooms beside the house, before the wedding or the morning after. Slots go quickly on wedding weekends, so book a treatment when you book the room.
Stay a little longer
A late check-out to midday is £25. Halifax's Piece Hall is a short drive away and the Calderdale hills start at the end of the lane, if the weekend has another day in it.
What wedding guests ask us
Can I book the wedding rate online?
No. The wedding rate is only available by calling Holdsworth House on 01422 240024 and quoting the couple's surnames and the wedding date. Our online booking page and other websites show the standard rate for the same room.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is 11am. Early check-in from midday or a late check-out to midday can be pre-booked for £25 each. If the ceremony is early and you want to change at the hotel first, tell reception when you book.
Will there be other weddings or guests in the hotel?
Only one wedding is held each day. While a wedding is on we do not take honeymooning couples or guests attending weddings elsewhere, so the house is yours in all but name. Unless the couple have booked exclusive use, there may be a few other hotel guests and restaurant diners, but they have no access to the wedding rooms.
We are bringing children. What are the options?
A suite sleeps two adults plus one extra adult or two children up to 12 on the sofa bed, included in the suite rate. In most other rooms an extra bed for a child up to 12 is £25 with breakfast, and a travel cot is £15; both need to be booked in advance. Some rooms interconnect.
Is the hotel accessible?
There is a ground-floor accessible bedroom with wide doorways and a walk-in shower, accessible parking and a cloakroom near reception, and ramps to the function rooms. The house is historic and has no lift; three stepped areas on the ground floor can be avoided by the routes outside the building, and reception will explain them before you arrive.
We are the couple. Can we reserve rooms for our guests?
Yes. Call reception on 01422 240024 and we hold the rooms against your wedding, each with a £50 non-refundable deposit. Guests then call to take a held room, or you can allocate them yourself. With exclusive use all 32 rooms are yours to allocate as part of the package.
