Meet Our senior RECEPTIONIST
When you book your wedding at Holdsworth House, reception is often the first point of contact — and the one you return to time and time again. From your initial enquiry and show round through to welcoming your guests on the day itself, our senior receptionist Mikhaila and her team play a central role in making everything feel calm, organised and genuinely welcoming.
With years of experience at Holdsworth House, Mikhaila is one of the most familiar and reassuring faces couples and guests encounter. Her knowledge of the hotel, the wedding process and the wider team ensures that questions are answered quickly, details are handled smoothly, and every visit starts with the right impression.
Introducing Mikhaila
Mikhaila has worked at Holdsworth House for over 17 years and is one of the longest-serving members of the team. During that time, she has been awarded Employee of the Year on multiple occasions, a reflection of the care, consistency and professionalism she brings to her role every day.
Known for going above and beyond for both guests and colleagues, Mikhaila plays a vital role in setting the tone of the hotel. Her knowledge of the house, her calm approach and her genuine warmth make her a reassuring presence for couples, wedding guests and visitors alike.
“Mikhaila is always smiling and brings a wonderfully positive energy to the team. She naturally conveys exactly the right character to welcome guests to Holdsworth House. As a core member of our senior team, she is incredibly knowledgeable and very well liked by everyone.”

What role do you play in weddings at Holdsworth House?
“As a receptionist, I’m often the first person brides and grooms speak to, whether that’s over the phone or when they visit us in person for a wedding show-round. First impressions really do matter.
On the wedding day itself, I’m often the first friendly face guests see when they arrive. It’s important to welcome everyone with a genuine smile and help set the tone for such a special occasion.
Reception is also the main point of contact for any questions or concerns throughout the day. As the most experienced receptionist in the team, there’s very little I haven’t come across. I’ve built up years of patience and the ability to juggle lots of things at once, and I genuinely love being part of such an important day.”
What do you bring to weddings at the hotel?
“It’s really important for our brides and grooms to experience consistency throughout their wedding journey, from the very first visit to the wedding day itself. Seeing familiar faces and the same team in place is reassuring and helps couples feel relaxed and confident.
Many of us have worked at Holdsworth House for most of our careers, so it genuinely feels like a second home. We take a great deal of pride in what we do and in the level of service we provide. It’s a bit like showing off something you care deeply about and wanting everything to go perfectly.
I bring knowledge, experience and confidence to the wedding team. I enjoy anticipating guests’ questions and finding practical, thoughtful solutions to any concerns. Holdsworth House gives me the trust and freedom to act in a guest’s best interest, and that allows me to do my job properly.”
Finally, what do you think is the best thing about Holdsworth House?
“I genuinely enjoy working here. It’s a really positive place to be, and because we host so many weddings and special occasions, most people arrive in a celebratory mood, which makes every day feel rewarding.
The building itself is beautiful, and I think that plays a big part in why so many of us stay for such a long time. Holdsworth House has a great atmosphere, and it’s a place you feel proud to be part of.”
