We promise to only ever host one wedding per day, however big or small the wedding.
Holdsworth House is fully licensed for marriages by the official council registrars and we can host your entire wedding event: your marriage ceremony, wedding breakfast and your evening reception.
You can be married in any room at Holdsworth House; the Gazebo is the smallest wedding venue in England. You can even marry outdoors, beneath the Colonnade Courtyard or the Garden Gazebo.
The hotel is licensed to sell alcohol until midnight for wedding guests, with music ending at 12.30am. Hotel residents can be served alcohol in the hotel bar until 1.00am.
Yes, the couple's dogs are permitted at weddings but they are not allowed in the hotel restaurant or in the function room when we are serving food.
We have a number of dog-friendly bedrooms. Read our pet policy.
Of course, everyone is welcome.
Yes, unless you take out the Exclusive Use premium there may be other hotel guests and restaurant diners. However, they are not permitted access to the areas designated to your wedding party.
Religious ceremonies cannot be held at Holdsworth House: it is not a designated religious site. You can get married in the religious venue of your choice and then hold your wedding reception and evening party with us. Civil marriages/partnerships are permitted here and conducted by the Halifax Registrars.
Yes you can bring table gifts or decorations to the hotel the day before and we will store them for you. It is unlikely you will have access to the function room until the morning of your wedding. Our team can put simple table decorations/gifts out for you if you provide clear instructions and plenty of notice. Please speak to our wedding coordinator to discuss your ideas.
Sorry no, we don’t offer a corkage service. Holdsworth House has a strict policy of not bringing alcohol onto the property; any evidence of such will result in immediate confiscation and a fee chargeable to the bride/groom as listed in the contract that you are required to sign.
Holdsworth House will not tolerate the use of any illegal drugs or narcotics by any person on the premises: any illegal drugs found on any persons or on the premises will result in the management notifying the police immediately.
If you are getting married at the hotel we will allocate one changing room to your bridal party for you to use the morning of your wedding. Most brides/grooms also book a bedroom the night before their wedding.
Yes any bedroom can be booked by paying a £50 non-refundable deposit per night. To allocate rooms to guests in your party simply call reception on 01422 240024
Yes we have accessible bedrooms with wide doors and showers. We also have ramps for accessing the function rooms by wheelchair. Designated parking spaces and an accessible cloakroom are also available close to reception.
As an historic building, Holdsworth House does not have a lift and the ground floor has three areas with steps – these are avoided by using the accessible routes outside the building. The quickest route for wheelchair users from reception to the Stuart Room is 10 metres (outdoors) across the car park, via the room's fire doors.
