A drink to start

A welcome drink comes with your key. Choose whatever will make you feel at home, be that a pint, a glass of wine or a pot of tea. Then find a quiet nook or a cosy corner and pore over our brochures about the history of the house, past and present, and the places of interest on the doorstep. For the more adventurous, we have a collection of beautifully illustrated walking maps that trace the footsteps of the Brontës, Anne Lister or even the Cragg Vale Coiners.

Questions

Seven questions, answered

Do we have to stay two nights?

Yes, the Autumn Escape is for a minimum of two nights. Three or more is fine: extra nights are from £214 a night (our Overnight Stay With Dinner rate), added on the booking page, and the dinner allowance applies every evening.

How does the spa credit work?

£25 comes off a treatment or a GROUND Wellbeing product at The Farmhouse Treatment Rooms. Book the treatment before you arrive, because the rooms are small and the diary fills: ring reception or reply to your confirmation email.

What is the welcome drink?

A voucher for a drink each from the bar when you arrive: a glass of Prosecco, a gin and tonic, a pint, a soft drink or a pot of tea.

Can we book it for a weekend?

Yes, if the dates are free. Friday and Saturday nights cost more than Sunday to Thursday; the booking page shows the total for your two nights before you pay.

When does the offer end?

The last night is 30 November 2026. Search two nights on the booking page and the Ultimate Autumn Escape rate appears; if it doesn’t, the dates are outside the offer.

Does the room have a bath or a shower?

It depends on the room. Some have a bath with a shower over it, some a walk-in shower, and a few have both: the split-level suites all have a bath with a shower over it, three of the executive suites have a bath and a separate walk-in shower, and the other three a large walk-in shower. Tell us which you’d prefer when you book. If the room you’re given isn’t right, just say at reception and if there’s something else free we’ll happily move you.

What if we need to cancel?

Packages are paid in full when you book. Cancel seven days or more before arrival and the whole amount is refunded; inside seven days there is no refund. Ring reception on 01422 240024 if your dates need to move and we will do what we can.
