Eight courses, one season

Head Chef Matt Rush brought a wealth of experience to Holdsworth House when he joined us. Having worked in a number of three-rosette kitchens, his skill and passion is evident in every course. His seasonal tasting menu draws from the current à la carte whilst adding a little something extra. At the heart of each dish you’ll find standout local produce given space to shine. A true culinary experience for even the most discerning palate.

The wine flight, or the list

Add the wine flight when you book and each course arrives with its glass, chosen by our sommelier. Or order from the list: Chablis and Puligny-Montrachet by the glass through the Coravin. We also have an excellent selection of alcohol-free wines that might just surprise you.

Questions

Seven questions, answered

How long does dinner take?

Give it the evening. Eight courses at an unhurried pace is two and a half to three hours.

Can the tasting menu be vegetarian or vegan?

Tell us when you book and the kitchen will plan the eight courses around you. Allergies the same; it needs notice.

How much is the wine flight?

£65 a person, added on the booking page or on the night. The sommelier pairs a glass to each course.

Can we eat earlier or later?

Tables for the tasting menu are from 6.30pm. Tell us your preferred time when you book.

Can we upgrade the room?

Yes, on the booking page: executive suites with four-posters, or a split-level suite with a sitting room downstairs.

Does the room have a bath or a shower?

It depends on the room. Some have a bath with a shower over it, some a walk-in shower, and a few have both: the split-level suites all have a bath with a shower over it, three of the executive suites have a bath and a separate walk-in shower, and the other three a large walk-in shower. Tell us which you’d prefer when you book. If the room you’re given isn’t right, just say at reception and if there’s something else free we’ll happily move you.

What if we need to cancel?

Packages are paid in full when you book. Cancel seven days or more before arrival and the whole amount is refunded; inside seven days there is no refund. Ring reception on 01422 240024 if your dates need to move and we will do what we can.
