Guests’ privacy and discretion plays a big part of the work we do at Holdsworth House. After all we’re a popular hotel choice for the stars of stage and small screen whilst they’re filming in Yorkshire.
But there are occasions when a well-known guest doesn’t mind us telling the world they’re visiting. And Jay Jay Burridge is one guest whose current role is a hard one to keep quiet.
Children’s author, artist and former TV presenter and producer Jay Jay Burridge is visiting Yorkshire to promote his series of books that are setting a new standard in children’s literature. The London-based author has created Supersaurs, a series that combines the magical world of literature with digital technology to attract today’s tech-savvy children into the world of words and pictures.
Supersaurs 1: Raptors of Paradise is the first in the series and is aimed at girls and boys who love dinosaurs. The tyrannosaurus stories are tearing up the traditional literature rules and running riot with children’s imaginations. The books come with a free downloadable app, which uniquely brings the book’s illustrations — also by Burridge – to life in 2D.
“Intriguingly set in a world where dinosaurs co-exist with humans, this is the first in a six-book series of classic adventure stories with a twist. Dynamic black-and-white illustrations bring the dinosaurs to life and add to the tension of a dramatic, historical thriller”(Booktrust)
Join us at Holdsworth House for an evening with Jay Jay Burridge, where you can hear more about his creative world on Monday 19 March, from 6.30pm. Burridge will be beginning his whistle-stop tour of Yorkshire by speaking at Addingham Primary School and going on to an exclusive book signing at Salts Mill, Bradford, Tuesday 20th March.
