The Airbnb Wuthering Heights Experience at Holdsworth House
The installation has attracted significant attention following recent press coverage. As it is separate from the hotel’s own accommodation, we’ve set out the details below to help guests understand what the experience is and how to book a stay at Holdsworth House if you’re not one of the lucky couples selected.
What is the Airbnb experience?
The Airbnb Wuthering Heights experience is a limited, one-off stay created by Airbnb in collaboration with Warner Bros to coincide with the release of Emerald Fennell’s 2026 film adaptation of Wuthering Heights.
As part of the experience, a replica of Cathy Earnshaw’s bedroom at Thrushcross Grange has been created within the grounds of Holdsworth House. The installation has been designed specifically for the Airbnb experience and exists separately from the hotel’s own accommodation.
Is Cathy’s Bedroom part of the hotel?
No. The replica of Cathy Earnshaw’s bedroom at Thrushcross Grange is a temporary installation created exclusively for the Airbnb Wuthering Heights experience. It is not a guest bedroom within Holdsworth House and cannot be booked directly through the hotel.
The installation exists separately from the hotel’s accommodation and is not included in standard stays, weddings or private events.
How does booking work?
Stays for the Airbnb Wuthering Heights experience are allocated exclusively by Airbnb and are free of charge. Booking requests and guest selection are managed entirely by Airbnb, and Holdsworth House does not oversee availability, applications or allocation for the experience.
All booking information and requests are handled directly through Airbnb.
Can I still stay at Holdsworth House?
Yes. Holdsworth House remains available to book in the usual way, and many guests choose to stay with us while exploring Haworth, Brontë Country and the wider Calderdale landscape.
For guests who would like their visit planned for them, our Brontë Country Escape combines an overnight stay with breakfast and Brontë Parsonage Museum entry, offering a calm base for exploring the area.
Why Holdsworth House?
Holdsworth House sits within the same West Yorkshire landscape that shaped Emily Brontë’s world. A place defined by weather, history and a strong sense of atmosphere. Its calm, historic setting and discreet character have long made it a natural base for writers, filmmakers and creatives working across Calderdale and the wider region.
The house’s role in the Airbnb Wuthering Heights experience reflects that alignment of place rather than a change in how Holdsworth House operates. The installation sits alongside the hotel, not within it, allowing the house itself to continue offering the same quietly established experience it always has.
No. Cathy’s Bedroom is part of a private Airbnb stay and is not open for visits or viewings outside of that experience.
The installation is temporary and has been created solely for the Airbnb Wuthering Heights experience. Its duration is determined by Airbnb and Warner Bros.
There are no plans for the installation to be available beyond this limited Airbnb experience.
The installation has been created by Airbnb in collaboration with Warner Bros. Holdsworth House is the setting for the experience but does not manage or operate the Airbnb stay.
No. The installation is not available to book as part of weddings, events or private hire at Holdsworth House.
Exploring Brontë Country
For many guests, the appeal of this part of West Yorkshire lies not in a single room, but in the wider landscape. Haworth, the moors, Calderdale and the sense of place that has drawn writers and visitors here for generations.
Holdsworth House remains open to book in the usual way, offering a historic, quietly comfortable base for exploring Brontë Country and the surrounding area.
For those who would like their visit planned for them, our Brontë Country Escape brings together an overnight stay, breakfast and Brontë Parsonage Museum entry.
