Holdsworth House is a four star country house hotel on the edge of Halifax, set within landscaped gardens and a historic house built in 1633. Executive Suites
Available exclusively when you book direct, our Executive Suites are the most spacious rooms in the house.
Each suite is individually designed, with generous seating areas, considered lighting and period details that reflect the character of Holdsworth House.
A sofa bed allows space for one additional adult or two children under 12, making these suites ideal for longer stays, special occasions or guests who value space and privacy.
Bridal Suite
Our Bridal Suite is one of the most characterful rooms in the house, traditionally styled and designed with space and calm in mind. The room features a half-tester bed, Juliet balcony and a generous en suite bathroom, making it a natural choice for wedding mornings and special stays. Like all rooms at Holdsworth House, it reflects the age and individuality of the building rather than a standardised layout.
Split-Level Suites
Our Split-Level Suites are arranged over two floors, with a lounge area and en suite bathroom on the lower level and a double bedroom above. This layout creates a natural sense of separation and space, making the suites particularly well suited to families. Each includes a sofa bed, allowing accommodation for up to two children under the age of 12, while retaining privacy and comfort for adults.
House Double and Twin Rooms
Our House Double and Twin Rooms form the heart of the hotel, offering generous space, traditional styling and views across the gardens or surrounding countryside. These rooms are located on either the ground or first floor and can be arranged as doubles or twins to suit your stay.
One House room is fully Accessible and located on the ground floor. All House rooms are en suite and designed for comfort, whether you’re staying for a short break, attending an event, or exploring West Yorkshire.

Breakfast with your stay
Breakfast at Holdsworth House is served in our restaurant each morning, with a choice of a freshly cooked Yorkshire breakfast or a lighter continental selection.
Ingredients are sourced locally where possible, including our own house-made black pudding. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available on request.
Breakfast is served daily from 7.30am to 10.00am.

Family-Friendly Bedrooms at Holdsworth House
Children are very welcome at Holdsworth House, and we offer a range of family-friendly bedroom options within the historic house. Several rooms can accommodate families comfortably, either with additional beds (£30 per night), cots (£20 per night), or interconnecting rooms. Baby changing facilities are available in the reception cloakroom.
Split-Level Suites and Executive Suites include a double sofa bed suitable for up to two children aged 11 or under, which is included within the room rate.
Interconnecting rooms are charged at the full room rate for each bedroom, offering added space and privacy for families with older children.
Farmhouse Treatment Rooms
Set within the grounds of Holdsworth House, the Farmhouse Treatment Rooms offer a quiet retreat dedicated entirely to rest and restoration.
Our treatments are created in partnership with GROUND Wellbeing, Ireland’s luxury, 100% vegan skincare brand, and focus on slow, sensory rituals designed to ease both body and mind. Massages, facials and bespoke treatments are delivered in calm, considered spaces inspired by the colours and textures of the surrounding Yorkshire landscape.
This is not a conventional spa. There are no pools or saunas—just peaceful treatment rooms designed for stillness and personal care. The Farmhouse is intended to complement a stay at Holdsworth House, whether as part of a relaxing break, a special occasion, or time taken simply to slow down.
A Dog Friendly Hotel
A number of our bedrooms are designated dog-friendly, welcoming well-behaved dogs staying with their owners at Holdsworth House.
A charge of £30 per dog, per night includes a thoughtful welcome on arrival, with a feeding and water bowl, towel and sleeping blanket provided in your room. Dog-waste bags and an outdoor disposal point are available on site — and for dogs not on a diet, there’s even a sausage at breakfast.

Accessible Room
Holdsworth House has one designated Accessible bedroom located on the ground floor, with a spacious en suite shower room. Please note that while the room is accessible, the height of the bed from the floor to the top of the mattress is approximately 2ft 3" (69cm).
An accessible parking space is available close to the rear hotel entrance, and there is an adapted toilet near reception. We also have bedrooms with walk-in showers rather than baths. If you have a preference, please contact us in advance so we can advise on the most suitable room options.

As a Grade II listed building, Holdsworth House does not have a lift and there are stairs to the restaurant and some function rooms. Wheelchair ramps are available on request, and our team is trained to support guests with mobility needs.

A valid debit or credit card is required to secure all bookings.
Direct bookings – Room Only or Bed & Breakfast:
Bookings made directly with Holdsworth House may be cancelled free of charge up to 12 noon on the day prior to arrival (excluding special packages and promotional rates). Cancellations made after this time will incur a charge equal to the full room rate.
Third-party bookings:
Guests who book via online travel agents or third-party travel professionals must contact their booking provider directly regarding amendments, cancellations, or applicable policies.
Special packages & promotional rates:
These rates require full pre-payment at the time of booking. Cancellations made 7 days or more prior to arrival will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made within 7 days of arrival are non-refundable.
Advance Purchase Rates:
Advance Purchase bookings are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable.
All additional charges and extras must be settled in full prior to departure.
One Wedding Party Accommodation Policy:
As a hotel popular for weddings, Holdsworth House operates a one wedding party per night policy and will always prioritise its own wedding party. No brides, grooms or guests from weddings taking place elsewhere are permitted to stay/use the facilities within the same 24-hour period as a wedding taking place here. Unfortunately, any such booking found to be made will be cancelled and any monies paid refunded. For full details see our booking policy.
