Just Good Friends

For those who want to celebrate with just close family and friends, we have devised a mid -week package which will enable you to have a memorable day and enjoy the delights of this beautiful old house from £1640 for up to 20 guests.  Make your grand entrance down the splendid oak staircase into the Hall for the civil ceremony, then dine in the restaurant with its magnificent mullioned windows overlooking the garden.

The Gazebo – the smallest licensed venue in the country

For a truly intimate ceremony you can hire our historic Gazebo, located in a corner of the Parterre garden. This 17th Century, four-gabled oratory has been draped with muslin and decorated with period stencils transforming it into a unique wedding setting.   Prices from £1640 to include accommodation for all of your guests. Late Availability

Planning a whirlwind wedding? Not everyone has or needs the luxury of time to spend planning their wedding. It is possible to create the most amazing wedding at the last minute and sometimes we have super late availability rates to match.

Just because you don’t want to wait the average 18 months to tie the knot, your wedding doesn’t have to be simply thrown together. On the contrary, we plan every wedding carefully and meticulously to ensure it’s as memorable, exciting and brilliant as the next. We have almost 50 years experience in hosting and running weddings so we know how to get things done right, whatever your time frame.

Ceremony Only Packages

If you don’t fancy a large party and simply want to get married in a stunning venue, then one of our Ceremony Only packages might be perfect, available Monday – Wednesdays. Ceremony only packages mean you can get married and enjoy celebratory drinks, food & photographs with your family and friends before heading away on your honeymoon by tea time. You’ll get the same level of exceptional service and attention to detail as all our special couples.

Gazebo Ceremony (based on 10 guests)

Our historical Gazebo in the Parterre Garden is the UK’s smallest licensed wedding venue, suitable for up to 10 people. Climb the stone steps before entering the candlelit Gazebo with its mullion windows, traditional stenciling, fireplace and muslin-draped ceiling.

A) £32.50 per person includes: Hire of the Gazebo, a glass of house Champagne following the ceremony, a selection  of 5 canapes.

B) £37.50 per person includes: Hire of the Gazebo, a glass of house Champagne following the ceremony, full Holdsworth House Afternoon Cream Tea.

 

The Hall or De Aldworth Ceremony (based on 20 guests)

The old Hall (pictured left) is on the ground floor and has an entrance from the main garden. It’s a beautiful room with a wooden floor, beamed ceiling, wood paneling and an open fire. Normally used as a lounge, we’ll move out the furniture and set the room with elegant chairs, enough for all your guests. Ceremonies usually take place in front of the fire.

Upstairs is the De Aldworth room, which was formerly a bedroom where Jayne Mansfield once slept. This room has a lovely original fireplace, stone mullion windows and views over the gardens.

A) £22.50 per person includes hire of The Hall or De Aldworth, a glass of house Champagne following the ceremony and a selection of 5 canapes

B) £27.50 per person includes hire of The Hall or De Aldworth, a glass of house Champagne following the ceremony and full Holdsworth House Afternoon Cream Tea.

Retro Sweetie Station – £200 for 120 people

We’d love to think that our Sweetie Station option (available as an extra at Holdsworth House weddings) will help keep any children amused  – and indeed it will – but actually we know that it’s the adults who won’t be able to resist our stash of retro goodies. So if you hanker after flying saucers, jelly babies, blackjacks or liquorice, then make sure you request the Sweetie Station. You get everything included here – enough for around 120 guests – presented in a mixture of old fashioned sweet jars, bowls and vases all set out on a table and decorated with bunting.

If your wedding is smaller, we can arrange a suitably sized Sweetie Station.  Plus if you have a few old favourites, just ask us and we’ll see if we can include them for you.

Cheese Tower – £250 for 120 people

If you want a truly sophisticated finale to your wedding breakfast – and one that can be carried on into your evening party – then ask us about the new Cheese Tower option.  Imagine a three-tiered wedding cake, but made up of three rounds of your favourite cheeses. This can look spectacular on your buffet table and guests can loiter and nibble to their heart’s content. The Cheese Tower is served with the usual accompaniments of crackers and grapes. Chair Covers – £2.50 per cover

Chair covers can help turn a room into a wonderful, luxurious banquet. With over 40 years experience of running weddings our team can spot the good from the bad. We’ve worked with a wide range of suppliers and have seen brides upset and disappointed when a supplier they thought would help them create the dream wedding has let them down. As a result, Holdsworth House has invested in some excellent quality chair covers that you can hire straight from us, with a coloured ribbon to complement your theme. You can choose from ivory, latte, burgundy or spring green. These chair covers are very easy to fit and so our team will happily dress the chairs for you. Regrettably if you arrange your own chair covers our team will not be able to dress the chairs for you due to time contraints. Vintage Cups & Saucers – £1 per set

For weddings with a touch of retro or vintage chic why not hire our eclectic collection of vintage cups and saucers in which to serve your guests afternoon tea? With 400 years of history to draw on Holdsworth House is an Aladdin’s cave of artifacts and antiques. In keeping with the elegance and style, we’ve been collecting vintage cups and saucers for a while and use them to serve our traditional English Afternoon Cream Teas – they go down a storm. You could use them for floating flowers, filling with jelly beans or put tea lights in them. For spring and summer Jubilee year weddings, they are perfect – all you need is the bunting.
