The Restaurant

The new seasonal menu is out now at Holdsworth House. This autumn and winter choose from out-of-the-ordinary dishes for special occasions, such as succulent fillet steak and foie gras or fresh turbot with cepes and a pork crackling crumb, these special dishes showcase the talents of our 2 AA Rosette chefs. Or opt for our irresistable flavour-packed Local Favourites, such as smoky barbecue Hunter’s Chicken or Old Peculiar twice-baked cheese souffle; its comfort food to relish.

holdsworth-089Head Chef Martin Henley (left) joined Holdsworth House in 2014 following his head chef position at York’s only five star hotel. Keen to maintain and build upon the 2 AA Rosettte standard, Henley manages an exciting brigade of chefs and apprentices in his kitchen. You’ll find a good selection of vegetarian dishes and special diets can be catered for with advance bookings.

Bar Menu: 12 noon – 10.00pm (12noon – 7.00pm Saturdays)

Sunday Lunch: 12noon – 2.30pm

The three adjoining, historic dining rooms overlook the gardens – The Stone Room, The Panelled Room and the Mullioned Room. Each offers a unique atmosphere, a lovely original fireplace and stone mullioned windows to the outside world. We also have two private dining rooms, perfect for Host a Roast parties and celebrations.

The Restaurant is open everyday except when a wedding takes Exclusive Use; please call to book to ensure we have a table for you. Most weddings take place in the self-contained Stuart Room, leaving the restaurant uninterrupted in the evening. If you’d prefer, The Long Bar offers a light and airy atmosphere with a more relaxed seating layout.
