Dining

Fresh and Local

At Holdsworth House our policy is to buy local produce from Yorkshire suppliers whenever we can. We also prepare all meals fresh; it sounds a simple strategy but you’d be surprised how many establishments don’t. We want our food to speak for itself; great flavours, fresh ingredients all made with passion.

AA Awards 2011

We were thrilled to have our hotel 3 star AA merit award increased to 86% – the highest in West Yorkshire – and to retain two Rosettes for the thirteenth year in a row; cementing our position as one of the best restaurants in region. It’s always an anxious time when ‘An Inspector Calls’ but here is a little of what he said:

In terms of the AA Quality Standards Holdsworth House Hotel has maintained a Three Star rating with an increase in Merit Score to commendable 86%. Two rosettes is maintained for the thirteenth year, an impressive feat. The team continue to deliver a warm and friendly welcome to guest with their natural approach and appropriate use of guest name. Dinner remains a highlight. The use of quality local produce in well balanced and well executed dishes was most enjoyable. Breakfast quality also impressed. ”

The Restaurant at Holdsworth comprises three beautifully furnished rooms overlooking the garden. The seasonal menu is creative and stylish making the best use of fresh local produce. For the past thirteen years we have been awarded two Rosettes in the AA Restaurants Guide as well as featuring in the Michelin Guide.

At Holdsworth you can enjoy delicious food and fine wines served all day from breakfast through to dinner…morning coffee and cake or a traditional afternoon tea.

We host a number of events including Yorkshire on a Fork evenings – the first Thursday night of every month.

‘As restaurants go, they don’t come more handsome… the oak panelled dining room remains one of the most atmospheric and intimate in Yorkshire.’ Yorkshire Post

‘As a first time guest at a family wedding at Holdsworth House, I was very happy with all services been provided by both waiting staff and the chefs. The four course meal at the start of the day was excellent all the family thoroughly enjoyed it.
Later on in the evening they provided an evening buffet that too was delicious.’Tripadvisor June 2011

‘We stayed at Holdsworth House for just one night on a business trip to the area. Arrived quite late and we just had time for a nightcap and were impressed that, despite the fact that they were clearing up and setting up for the morning, we were asked several times if we wanted any more drinks – we resisted. Excellent breakfast with really good scrambled eggs and bacon.’  Tripadvisor March 2011
