Located three miles from Halifax centre, Holdsworth House couldn’t be better placed for exploring the vast and varied landscape of the Yorkshire Pennines. The scenery, attractions and places to visit within a 10 miles radius are some of the best in Northern England. Haworth, Hebden Bridge, Bradford, Huddersfield, Holmfirth, Keighley and Leeds are all within easy driving distances. HALIFAX
Once the heart of England’s wool industry, Halifax is a Yorkshire market town close to the Pennines and home to some of the region’s best-preserved Georgian and Victorian landmarks. A must see is the beautiful Piece Hall, which frequently hosts events such as Food Festivals. For families it has a fabulous children’s museum and activity centre Eureka! Theatre lovers and gig goers will be drawn to the ornate Victoria Theatre and its varied calendar of performances, while fans of classical music will welcome the chance to catch Halifax’s historic choral society. For a change of pace, head to the recently renovated Square Chapel: Centre for the Arts, and experience everything from comedy workshops and world music, to contemporary dance.
With The Shay Stadium only a short walk from the town centre, rugby league and football fans can look forward to lively Halifax Blue Sox and Halifax A.F.C fixtures. The annual Rushbearing Festival held in Sowerby Bridge also comes highly recommended, with its eclectic mix of morris dancers and musicians from around the UK.

HAWORTH & THE BRONTES
Famous throughout the world, the small and simply beautiful town of Haworth is like stepping back in time. This quaint, hilly town with its cobbled streets, boutique shops, tea rooms, apothecaries and Railway Children-style train station is a literary mecca. Visitors flock from all over to see The Parsonage Museum where the three sisters wrote their novels including Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall to name a few.
Haworth Parsonage was the home to Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë, the world’s most famous literary family, now the Brontë Parsonage Museum. On the way you’ll pass through enchanting and mystical, wild and rugged moors where you can practically hear the echoes of Catherine and Heathcliffe around every heather strewn corner.
